I am Prof. Dr. N. Radhakrishnan, born in 1945 in the quiet village of Cheppad in Alappuzha district, Kerala. After graduating in medicine and later completing my MS in General Surgery from Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, I dedicated my life to the field of health and medical research. At present, I serve as the Hon. Visiting Professor in Nanoscience and Technology at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, and as the Senior Consultant Vascular Surgeon and Medical Administrator at St. Thomas Hospital, Changanassery, Kottayam District. I also function as the Medical Director of the St. Thomas Institute of Research on Venous Diseases, Chairman of the Dr. N. Radhakrishnan International Centre for Medical Innovation (NRICMI) at MG University, and Chairman of the Ethical Committee of the National Homeopathic Research Institute, Kottayam, under the Ministry of AYUSH.<\/p>\n

Throughout my professional journey spanning over five decades, I have devoted the last 25 years to understanding and treating Chronic Venous Diseases (CVD). I have treated over 45,000 patients with varicose veins using innovative, minimally invasive procedures such as Modified Microfoam Sclerotherapy (MMFST). My collaborations with the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology helped uncover the genetic and molecular basis of varicose veins, and I have worked with Mahatma Gandhi University to develop nanotechnology-based treatments for chronic wounds.<\/p>\n

My first reference book, A Treatise on Venous Diseases<\/em>, was published in 2014 and received wide acclaim. In 2022, I authored a second major reference work titled Genesis, Pathophysiology and Management of Venous and Lymphatic Disorders<\/em>, published by Elsevier. This comprehensive book bridges the gap between basic science and clinical medicine, detailing the history, anatomy, pathophysiology, clinical management, genetic aspects, and pharmacology of venous and lymphatic diseases. It is used by students, clinicians, surgeons, researchers, radiologists, and even biomedical engineers across various disciplines.<\/p>\n

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I felt compelled to raise public awareness, and so I authored a Malayalam book titled \u201cCovid-19, Corona Enna Vyali \u2013 Oravalokanam\u201d<\/em>, published in July 2021 by Dr. N. Radhakrishnan Foundation and Cornet Books, Kottayam.<\/p>\n

Inspired by the leadership and vision of Hon\u2019ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, I wrote a Malayalam book titled \u201cMODI, NAVABHARATHATHINTTE SOORYA TEJUS\u201d<\/em> (Modi: The Radiant Sun of Resurgent India), which was released on January 23, 2019, by the former Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, at the Vice President\u2019s residence in New Delhi.<\/p>\n
